The past few days have been a rollercoaster, I am getting sick, and while on the 95bus I got in an accident. My puppy, Bannon, gets into alot of mischief. He at some point ate an entire pair of panties whole, then attempted a bowl movement and tried pooping them out, he got about halfway and then couldnt finish (understandably so) and it caused him ALOT of pain, we took him to the vet and he got emergency surgery.
He will be ok but is still in their care resting from surgery. The surgery is gonna cost Ashley and I $3000... which unfortanatley money we dont have, luckily her parents agreed to lend us the money. BEAT THAT POOP STORY HOWIE! (actually please don't)I am planning on hosting some events to help cover some of the costs and hoping my friends will come support and have a good time as well. I will post stuff as it is confirmed but there will be a Smiths/ Morrissey night at the rocker room with Craig and I DJing with a pitcher for donations, as well as a silent art auction and a vegan treats table set up by Ashley and Auntie Loo I think. 
Any way, onto the records which will unfortunatley slow down in the comming months due to the above debt, this sucks but may be better for me in the long run ha ha.
I Got a phone call about a week back from my assistant manager informing me that he just purchased quit a few smiths singles at Vertigo records and there were some left. I immediatey called and had them placed on hold without knowing exactly what i just placed on hold i set out for Vertigo. When i got there i found out i had almost $120 worth of Smiths and Morrisey singles placed on hold, all UK pressings. apparently someone from the UK just moved here and sold their entire lot, SCORE!

On Tuesday Eric and I headed to Westboro for are weekly route, Cory and Ashley tagged along. The new record store that was opening is still no where near ready and the owner is very annoying to deal with. We went to a second hand store and i found a 7" by someone named David McNamara, the single id called Sheriff Thompson and was put out on Fatbuckle recordings. I got it for .75cents because it was recorded nd put out in Lanrk, Ontario which is where I'm from, pretty cool find. I also scored 7 Maxwell UR-90 blank cassette tapes still sealed for .25cents each which is awesome and everyone knows how i love making mix tapes!
Then it was off to Legend records where someone had just recently dropped off a haul of old metal records. Eric got a Celtic Frost LP and Cory got an old Nazi marching band LP and a Minor Threat LP. I managed to get a copy of Onslaught - Power From Hell LP.
Onslaught were an English thrash metal band from Bristol, England. Initially active from 1983 to 1991, They were influenced by Discharge and The Exploited and played thrash metal. Alot of their imagery and lyrics are very satanic. Power from hell was their debut record and came out in 1985 and the cover was a demon emerging from a pentagram, it rules. I also got a copy of Cryptic Slaughter - Convicted.
Cryptic Slaughter was a Santa Monica, California-based crossover thrash/hardcore punk band who formed in 1984. Their members were only 14-17 years old! In 1986 they released their debut Convicted and it sold over 25,000 copies in the first year and earned them a reputation for being one of the fastest bands in hardcore. I also got an Ottawa classic, the Deep Six 7" which features an Ottawa anthem called Rockin' at the Rideau! it was put out on NOMAD records, the copy i got sadly didnt have the cover but I found someone to photo copy one for me. I also scored a copy of the No Fraud 7" E.P. they were a punk/hardcore/thrash band originally from Florida, this E.P. came out in 1993.
That brings us up to this week. Eric got me a copy of a 7" by a band from Montreal called Foreground. They have an underdog feel and its really good. This 7" was put out on A Step Further Records, The singer Éric Fillion later went on to play drums in Cobra Noir.
He also got me a copy of the Skeleton/ Besthoven split LP. When i went to play it i noticed the labels were test press labels, i didn't think anything of it and assumed they did a standard pressing of these for a tour maybe or something. I asked Eric and he said his labels were regular labels and he instantly regretted selling me this copy. It's a great split.
Spencer also managed to get extra copies of the Fucked Up - Year of the Pig 7"

and the Japanese pressing which i missed out on and I knew he was looking for a long out of print copy of Baiting the Public so i tracked one down for hima nd we traded.
I also attended the Nobunny/ Demon Claws show at Babylon and was blown away by Nobunny's backing band the SMith Westerns who were only 17-19 years old so i nabbed a copy of their 7" on HOZAC records on translucent Orange which i believe is a re-issue, its not as good as their live show but still worth a spin.
Nobunny stole the show and put on one of the best preformances I have ever seen. If you EVER get the chance to see him live, DO IT!
I also got one of the last copies of his 'Give it to me!/Motorhead with me!' 7" also on HOZAC and on translucent pink /400. Its an excellent 7" but took a few listens to appreciate as much as his live show, sadly he didn't have any copies of the LP with him.
Just today Eric and i went for our weekly trip to Westboro and brought Adam with us since he had never been to Legends. e biked there, it was my first bike of the season and I was pretty sore still but it was fun. I found a copy of the Morrissey 'Interesting Drug' 12" with a 'Promo' stamp on it for $4 at the Record Center.
When we got to Legends it was already closed though.All in all a great past couple weeks record wise.
Hopefully Bannon has a speedy recovery and is home soon!
