Yesterday i went record shopping with Eric and Cory. Since the busses are free we decided to venture out to westboro which is the new Glebe for those of you not in the know.

I found a Fluid waffle 7" with a handmade cardboard cover numbered 328 for 5 dollars and a Fluid Wafle LP for 7.99 at LEGEND records. Fluid Waffle is an old ottawa band that actually just played a reunion show at Babylon with ottawa legends the Trapt last year.

Then we hit up this weird second hand value village type place where i found two 7"s of a bands i wasnt familar with. One was of Jale who was an indie rock band from Halifax, Nova Scotia, they were formed in 1993 and disbanded in 1996. They are considered one of the more influential bands to come out of the mid-1990s Halifax scene. The lead singer also did all the back-up vocals on Slaons album 'Smear' and they later signed to SUB-POP records.

The Second 7" was by the mighty Bubaiskull who ruled the Halifax music scene with an iron fist in the early 90's.

Both records were put out on Cinnamon Toast Records from Halifax, Nova Scotia run by Walter Forsyth, Lee Ann Gillan, Shawn Duggan, Colin MacKenzie, Robert Jeans and Miroslav Wiesner. They released a number of limited release 7" singles, each in a different colour. Their first release was the soon to be signed to Sub Pop's all female band; Jale's first recording — a red 7" single called "Aunt Betty" (which is the record i got).
